It is my pleasure to introduce myself to you. My name is Hazel Phillips; I am the founder of Light 2 Health. Our motto here is "He who has health has hope, and he who has hope has everything!" Quite a profound statement, but very true.
Allow me the honor to tell you my story. I first found out about low level lasers from a good friend of mine Valerie Castleman. At the time she was working with Dr. Lytle (creator of the Q-Laser series) and beginning a new career as a laser consultant. She utilized the Q1000 and 808 enhancing probe to help in the healing process of a broken ankle that I had sustained after an accident. The pain that I experienced at the time was under control with medication. (I am not fond user of pharmaceuticals but they were necessary in order to go through my daily activities.)
Knowing that I would be interested in an alternative method, she gave me the laser for a trial. To my surprise my ankle felt a little strange at first, but I noticed a difference shortly after and could actually feel something happening for the better. I went to the doctor the following week and he was happy to tell me that I would no longer need the walking boot to support the ankle. I was hooked. I began using the laser for everything. My neck, back, knees and so much more, even my family began using the laser.
To give you a better understanding of why I was so happy to find the laser, I need to tell you of an accident that I was in a couple of years prior to the broken ankle incident.
Driving late one night after a long day of school and work I decide to stop and buy a few groceries for my family at the local 24-hour Wal-Mart. In hindsight I was exhausted and probably should not have done so. After purchasing my groceries I called home and told my family that I would be home shortly. I proceeded home on the interstate in my minivan cruising at 75 mph. In my exhausted state I fell asleep at the wheel and was in a horrible accident.
That evening the good lord was looking out for me. Even though I sustained a broken neck and other injuries I was alive. According to all of the emergency staff, the police, ambulance response team, nurses and doctors I was very lucky lady to be alive. Lucky to be alive even though I was paralyzed for the first week (from the broken neck) and could not feel the extent of my injuries though out my body do to the pain medication that I was on. I didn't feel very lucky.
"Luck", really had nothing to do with it the good Lord saved me and he placed me in the hands of those wonderful doctors, nurses and emergency staff to give me the opportunity to be healed. The injuries that I sustained from the accident are too numerous to mention, but after several months of wearing a metal contraption called a Halo, having a very risky surgery that placed a titanium screw in my neck and a whole lot of prayer to the good lord above. I was able to function and live life as best as physically possible.
For months after coming home from the hospital I suffered with a lot of pain, in my neck, head, upper torso, my hips and my knees and while my family understood my pain, it was very hard on all of us. I tried hard to continue a normal life with my children but I couldn't do everything that I was able to do before the accident and some days the pain was so bad that I could hardly function.
Then, I met Valerie we became acquaintances and then over time great friends. It was she that introduced the laser to me as I stated above. I thank the good Lord every day that she came into my life.
When the opportunity of a position with Dr. Lytle opened up, I decided to take the position in order to learn more. It was the best decision that I could have ever made. Working with Dr. Lytle allowed me to gain knowledge and experience in the low-level laser field and return the favor of that knowledge to others.
I continue to educate myself to this day, learning more about low-level lasers and working with people to educate them. The laser system has changed my life and it has allowed me to help others change theirs.
Our office is working hard every day to make some great leaps in the low-level laser therapy arena.
LuAnne Nisco is a laser consultant in training, educating herself on LLLT as well as working with our clients on customer service. She is an outstanding person to work with and I feel very fortunate that our clients have her for assistance in answering any questions that they may have.
